Hi, I too, am a McLain...except our family had to drop the Mc when they came over on the boats...they said to many Mc's...I do know that the McLain comes from England then goes to a small island that borders Scotland and Ireland. I am still trying to locate my clan and family. If you want, you can reach me at :lainpatricia5@yahoo.com.
Seth, my great, great, plus grand father was John McClain who came to America in the late 1700's and settled in or near Marysville and Greenback Tenn. I too am connected to the McClain castle on the Isle of Mull. Howdy Cuz.
hello, I visited the Isle of Mull...beautiful! There are two castles on that island...two different clans...one mcLeane and the castle that was being restored was the McLain castle...
Good day all, I am Robert Marsh the nephew of Don Marsh the editor of the "McClain Exchange". I am currently trying to pick up where he left off in the late 90's. I would be very interested in hearing from other direct descendants of the McClain's. I have been deep into two other lineages that have taken me back to biblical genealogy and I am now moving into the McClain side. I can be reached at rmarsh225@gmail.com.
